Terms of Use
The short version: we run a service that writes messages as you. The 9 Rules bind us and cannot be switched off. Everything the service does in your name is still done in your name.

1. What the service is
996 Butler connects to one conversation on your Telegram account and replies in your voice, following instructions you set. Messages it sends are sent from your account and appear to the other person as yours.
It is a private beta. Features change, and it can be withdrawn.
2. The 9 Rules
The 9 Rules are published and form part of these Terms. They constrain us, not only you. They sit above your instructions, and you cannot instruct the service to break them — attempts to do so are disobeyed if they reach the model.
We may add rules or make an existing one stricter. We will not weaken or remove one without publishing the change and a revised version of these Terms first.
3. What you are responsible for
That you are an adult, and that the other person is too.
Obtaining any consent the law where you or the other person live requires before connecting a conversation. We cannot obtain it for you, and the fact that we let you connect is not advice that you may.
Everything sent from your account, whether you wrote it, approved it, or let the service write it. Delegating the writing does not delegate the responsibility.
Keeping your account secure, and telling us promptly if it is not.
4. What you must not use it for
Contacting anyone who has asked you to stop, or who has blocked you.
Anyone under 18.
Harassment, coercion, stalking, fraud, or impersonating anyone other than yourself.
Bulk or commercial messaging. This is a service for one conversation at a time, and it is rate-limited to keep it that way.
We suspend accounts for this, without refund, and we do not require a court order to do it.
5. Telegram, and the risk to your account
The service authenticates as your Telegram account rather than as a bot, because that is what sending as you requires.
Automating a Telegram user account is not a supported use of that platform. Telegram may rate-limit, restrict, or permanently ban an account it believes is automated. That risk is yours, it extends to your entire Telegram account including conversations unrelated to this service, and by connecting one you accept it.
We reduce the risk with volume caps and human-shaped timing. We cannot remove it, and we are not able to recover a banned account.
6. Payment
Signing up starts a 7-day free trial. Entering your card authorises and saves it rather than charging it, and nothing is taken during the trial. When the trial ends, the first monthly payment for the plan you chose is taken from that card automatically, and monthly from then on. Cancel before the trial ends and you are not charged at all.
Subscriptions bill monthly in advance and renew until cancelled. Cancel any time, effective at the end of the current period.
If we withdraw the service or suspend you for a reason that is not your breach, we refund the unused part of the period.
7. What we do not promise
That the service will always be available, or that a message will always send.
That it will sound exactly like you, or that the other person will not notice.
The 9 Rules are enforced by classifiers and code, and no such system is perfect. We commit to the rules and to fixing failures, not to the claim that a failure is impossible.
Nothing here is legal advice about whether you may use the service where you live.
8. Liability
To the extent the law allows, our liability is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
We do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.
We are not liable for the consequences of a conversation. If a relationship ends over this, that is between the people in it.
9. Ending it
You can delete a connection or your account at any time. Deletion is immediate and destroys the session credentials with it.
We can suspend or terminate for breach of these Terms, for a credible safety report, or if we stop offering the service.
The 9 Rules, this section, and the liability section survive termination.
10. Changes and contact
We will give notice of material changes before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that is acceptance.
